"We know this is true:  TRC changes lives."

Thank you for your continuing support

Stemming the cycle of poverty through a love of reading

We know this to be true:  a four-year-old child growing up in poverty can be 18 months behind in language development and live in a "book desert," with only one book per 300 children.  For over 27 years, The Reading Connection has been dedicated to providing child literacy programs and access to books for children living in housing insecurity.

Thank you to all who contribute to TRC, enabling us to provide much-needed and well-regarded programs in northern Virginia, Montgomery County, Md., and the District of Columbia.  With your help, we are increasing our services once again, opening a new Read-Aloud program site in Annandale, Va., in March 2017.  Please join us as a monthly donor.  Contact Summer Parrish, Director of Development, for more information.
